Decoder

RAVidEn decoder application.

The decoder does three things:

  • It reads the DataBorder out of any video that contains one: a clip someone sent you, an export from the recorder, or the camera's live stream.
  • It shows every value on a timeline beside the video, with a trust band that says whether the data came from the camera untouched.
  • It cuts clips that still carry their data, and exports the camera's stored history as CSV.

The decoder runs on your laptop. Nothing is uploaded. The clips, the database and the exports stay on your machine.

Getting started

  1. Install the application on macOS or Windows.
  2. Drop a clip into the window, or record the camera's stream.
  3. Read the values from the timeline and open the decoded data for everything else the DataBorder carried.
  4. Extract a clip of the moment that matters and send it.

That is enough to read a recording. Live watches the stream without recording it.

When a clip does not decode cleanly, the signal view shows whether the camera, the network or the recorder is damaging the DataBorder. Verification confirms that a clip came from the camera unaltered.
